    Hi Vince
I am new to Chapeau and I want to express to you that I am delighted with your work …

I am currently working with version 25 and it is great … However, the question that strikes me is the following: will you continue to provide support and updates to the current version of chapeau?

    Regards…

Thanks Vince, I’ll give Kodi a try.

I can’t really help you with Rygel, not used that for a long time and didn’t get great results then. I can only suggest either heading to the project’s Bugzilla or contacting a developer on IRC as recommended on the Rygel wiki.

I can recommend Kodi though, yes Kodi is not just a great ten-foot-display media player. Together with it’s excellent media library abilities Kodi is the best DLNA server I’ve used.

I know this thread is old but as a new user, I had the same problem. To get bluetooth working open the terminal and do this.

    systemctl –user start obex
    sudo systemctl –global enable obex

After that you’ll be able to send files both ways.

I take no credit – found it on another site and it worked like a charm.

I suggest that this come enabled with future versions of Chapeau as this is another weakness of Linux distros. Bluetooth should work out of the box without the user having to troubleshoot and fix it first.

What led me to Chapeau 24 was my experience with Fedora 25. I’m no expert but from a user perspective Wayland is not ready for prime time. I would hate to see a Chapeau 25 based off Fedora 25.

    Hi DM,

Thanks for your query, as I’ve just posted in another thread, there has been some understandable concerns from a few members of the community that there has not been a Chapeau release based on Fedora 25. The reasons for this has been attributed to dev resource (ie. my time) and technical issues (a number of offline problems but mainly the livecdcreator tools that the project has relied on for builds are broken in the f25 cycle, the livecdcreator issues seems to have been addressed in the rawhide repos).

Whilst some of the technical issues delaying Chapeau 25 have been addressed the next Chapeau release is likely to be based on f26 considering the timing.

This does not stop any Chapeau users updating their Chapeau 24 systems to Chapeau 25 using dnf if they want as the Chapeau 25 repo was made avaiable before the release of f25 but users can just as easily skip 25.

    Ha

    Thanks for your feedback.
The Chapeau project has been alive since 2013 and is not dead.

There has been some understandable concerns from a few more vociferous members of the community that there has not been a Chapeau release based on Fedora 25. The reasons for this has been attributed to dev resource (ie. my time) and technical issues (a number of offline problems but mainly the livecdcreator tools that the project has relied on for build are broken in the f25 cycle, the livecdcreator issues seems to have been addressed in the rawhide repos).

Whilst some of the technical issues blocking Chapeau 25 have been addressed the next Chapeau release is likely to be based on f26 considering the timing.

This does not stop any Chapeau users updating their Chapeau 24 systems to Chapeau 25 using dnf if they want as the packages are there but users can just as easily skip 25.

    Hope that answers your queries

SOLVED.. The issue was resolved by uninstalling Eset NOD 32 antivirus for linux. Although linux does not need an AV app, This machine handles NTFS partitions visited by Windows so I run it to keep an eye on files and folders created by Windows.

This morning after rolling back to Kernel: 4.8.14-200.fc24.x86_64 x86_64 (64 bit gcc: 6.2.1) the same high CPU usage is noted. I keep Chapeau Linux on two SSD drives, one for a backup. After switching drives and noting that the backup drive has Kernel: 4.8.14-200.fc24.x86_64 x86_64 (64 bit gcc: 6.2.1) the issue was NOT there, once booted the resource monitor was pretty much flatlined, all cores idling.

After the latest update applied, CPU usage was unacceptably high, going back to Kernel: 4.8.14-200.fc24.x86_64 x86_64 (64 bit gcc: 6.2.1) did not cure the problem.
